Recommendation

I don't recommend this book to the people who doesn't like thrilling books, but I really really recommend this book to the people who likes violence and swears.
There are alot of violent and swear words going on in this story...
Personally I really enjoyed reading this book...
I think it's the best book for people who enjoys thrill.

Setting

First the story starts at the earth and then the place changes into the space immediately... I don't think the earth comes out only few times. So I think earth and space.

It happens in the future...

The mood of the story

I think I can express the whole mood of the story by one word which is thrill. Personally I as I read through this book I thought it was very thrilling. I think Peter was the one who controlled the whole mood. If there wasn't Peter in this story then I think this book would be pretty normal...? So I think Peter effects the whole mood.

Climax of the story

Climax is when there's a big turning point.

I think the biggest turning point happens when Ender fights and he thinks that it's his last command from his school but later he finds out that actually there is third invasion.

I think this is the biggest turning point because Ender's like so comforted because he thinks he will never do this again but, suddenly he heards the news that he should fight again so I think this is the biggest turning point for this story and also for Ender

Main Characters

I think there are 3 main characters in the story.

Peter

Valentine

Ender

so basically does three characters are siblings. Peter is the oldest, Valentine is the only girl, who's second oldest, and Ender the youngest.

Peter is the bad guy. (Antagonist)

Valentine is just normal.

Ender is the good guy. (Protagonist)

Peter is wants to kill Ender who's the youngest sibling because Peter thinks that Ender is better than him.

I think Ender is pretty naive, because eventhough Peter wants to kill himself Ender still loves him.

The Major Theme

I can't tell the theme of this book by one definition but I can show it by two opposite definition.

One definition can be love. And another one can be hatred.

That’s why this book is so random and that was the reason this book was so exciting.
For the love part it I think the best character is Ender, because even if Ender knows that Peter tries to kill himself he still loves Peter just because Peter is his brother. And Ender loves his sister name Valentine.

In other way around Peter wants to kill Ender because he thinks Ender is better than him, so the biggest reason is jealousy

Superpower!!!

Right after I saw one part of Heros, I really wanted some kind of superpower... This drama called Heroes is a series of these ordinary people who doesn't know that he have a superpower but some how they finds out... Really cool thing of this drama is that somehow those people who are not related they come together and become a group... I don't think it relates to Greek God but one of the superpowers that I really want to have is stopping the time like Hiro Nakamura has... because if I can stop time then I can do anything such as homeworks, cheating on the test, sleeping in the middle of the class.

A Greek Monster

Argus

Argus was a giant with 100 eyes. Argus (or Argos) was a monster. With his multiple sets of eyes, there seems to be no way of escaping him, for even when he slept, fifty of his eyes remain open and look around threateningly. Hera, the Queen of the Olympian gods and goddesses, commanded Argus to watch over Io. Io was a woman with whom Zeus - the ruler of the Olympians - had conducted a passionate love affair. However, in order to protect his mistress from the wrath of his wife, Zeus had transformed Io into a heifer. Hera asked Argus to guard her rival Io. Zeus sent the god Hermes to dispatch the monster. Hermes lulled Argus to sleep before killing him. After his death, Hera set his eyes in tail of the peacock, which became her symbol.

Entry #1

http://students.ou.edu/Y/Erin.E.Young-1/hermes.jpg
Hermes:In Greek mythology, is the Olympian god of boundaries and of the travelers who cross them, of shepherds and cowherds, of thieves and road travellers, of orstors and wit, of literature and poets, of athletics, of weights and measures, of invention, of commerce in general, and of the cunning of thieves and liars. The analogous Roman deity is Mercury. The Homeric hymn to Hermes invokes him as the one :"of many shifts (polytropos), blandly cunning, a robber, a cattle driver, a bringer of dreams, a watcher by night, a thief at the gates, one who was soon to show forth wonderful deeds among the deathless gods.
Their personality is perfectly different. There physical apearance is really different, first Hermes is small and he uses special items such as shoes with wings, so he uses items! but Hercules is buff and he uses his power... The big difference is that Hercules is mortal but Hermes is immortal... but one simmilarities is that they are both heroic and they are both in good side which is Olympus God

Recommendation

I don't recommend girls to read this book. If you like adventure books then I really think that you should read it. If you don't then I don't think it's a going to be for you... I want to recommend this book to boys who favors adventure...

Personally I liked reading this book... Even though I slept at the same time.

Favorite Passage

“Ralph looked at him dumbly. For a moment he had a fleeting picture of the strange glamour that had once invested the beaches. But the island was scorched up like dead wood - Simon was dead - and Jack had.... The tears began to flow and sobs shook him. He gave himself up to them now for the first time on the island; great, shuddering spasms of grief that seemed to wrench his whole body. His voice rose under the black smoke before the burning wreckage of the island; and infected by that emotion, the other little boys began to shake and sob too. And in the middle of them, with filthy body, matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.” (pg. 202)

I really liked this passage, in this part I really respected the author, his own way of describing human's feeling... and I would totally feel the same as Ralph...

Main Characters

Piggy, Ralph, Jack and Roger...

I don't like Piggy because he is a coward. Ralph I really like him because he has a good leadership. He never gives up... Jack I don't like him because he is not good at accepting the truth... Roger I don't like him because he doesn't know how to calm his anger...

Piggy was so coward so that's one special thing about Piggy. Ralph has a good leader ship so that's one thing I think is special for Ralph. Jack is like so aggresive... and he thinks he is best but in reality he is not but he doesn't accept the reality... and one special thing about Roger is he doesn't control his anger and he kill Piggy because Piggy made him mad...

I think those characters reveals alot about the humanity... Ralph has strong personality. So he survives well by him self. Piggy is weak so he got murdered... Jack doesn't accept the reality so he doesn't improve. Roger is easy tempered so he finally kills a kid...

Setting

They take place in one place. Which is a island where no one lives. So simply we can say that the setting is in island but there are alot of places inside the island... There are forest

Climax

I am not sure if it is climax but I felt like I was one of the kids in the story and I was so thrill. The part that I really liked was when Simon hear the existance of Lord of the Flies and he become so hyper to tell the existance of Lord of the Flies but no one trusted him and he dies by burning in the forest. I have one more part that I think it's theme the second part when Simon dies... Piggy died by getting murder from a kid name Roger... Roger has a strong personality and Piggy hurt Roger's pride so Roger threw a rock at Piggy and Piggy died...

Major Theme

I think the major theme of the story "Lord of the flies" is they had an accident during the flight and they eventually came to the island where no one lives. So these little kids are looking for older people to take care of because they are new to the enviroment like this. Later on they finds out that there is no adults so they make there own rules and the whole story is about these little kids surviving through the island...
